You know Yaolin I just can't believe that you submit such a sweet wallpaper already, I thought you would be very very busy. I'm so happy that you manage both your study and working on a wall simultaneously. You're really a hardworking girl.

Ya, but I'm really not a hardworker. [Not at all] I just always give up to the things I don't find comfertable. And my college schedule is one best eg. I can give. My life in college has become so busy that I'm even not getting time for my self.

And to study Law really needs a lot of patience. But yes I study very very hard in the time of exams, even if I feel exaust.

Well I'm still trying to be more optimistic. So I think I'm now only concentrating on improving my character. [Sorry I think I got deviated from my topic]
Actually I really wanna congratulate on your recent 'Cardcaptor Sakura' wallpaper it was really really [I can say it thousand times] beautiful. You've really put a sweet detail and texture to the wall.

I'm glad you like my virtual paint bucket explosion (haha that's what I think too)!

Ah, actually for this wall I did not use gradients to paint her in. I traced the outlines of the vector lines with the normal pen tool and then applied a vector mask for each section of her(like her hair, face, clothes)in different layers. Start from the top down, so that it saves you time and so you can hide unmasked areas under other parts (like her face is under her hair's layer, and clothes are under the hair). To color, I start with a base color to fill in the main layers of her sections, and then I make separate duplicate layers for the shadows and highlights, and put them all on different blending modes. I used mainly multiply, pin light, and overlay for the darks/midtones, and linear/color dodge and lighten for the highlights. So it's mainly a harmony among layers and blending modes to get all the vivid colors. But yes, in each layer they are directly painted on as "flat" colors with a brush.

Hopefully that makes some sense...XP

And sorry for giving a comment on the wall 'Sakura Wars' so late. But I really tried my best to describe the wall in my words. Hope you've liked it.
I know that your university work is very important, and at the time of exams, you get even more lesser time to spend on the works you like to do [I know it cause I'm also dealing with the same situation ] I know it's hard and some time we get very frustrated, but never let you're morals get down. When you have a passion for the work you are doing then you'll never feel sad. So I think making good walls is also one of your passionate works, that's why you always manage to get time to make them look so great. It's really very very good thing.
Always remember Yaolin, never let this passion [for any kind of work] go away from your life cause it makes you feel important and happy. This is the only thing which always cheer you even when you feel uncomfortable with your surroundings. So always try to take care of this passion, passionately.

don't know why you complain so much about your wallpaper! Actually I think you did a great job with the vectoring! And I really like the sakura tree (it looks very realistic)^_^ I don't think a day theme would have been better than this. I really prefer the night theme. Goog job! Keep it up!
